Next Step : Residential

Orientation

When a resident first enters Next Step, she must wait 10 to 14 days before being voted into the program by her peers. During this period, the resident must talk with other residents about herself and her offense. She will also speak with each counselor.

The resident will be allowed to make one phone call upon her arrival to Next Step, and monitored call to her children each week. There will be not other phone calls, and no visitors, until voted into the program.

Once the resident is voted into the program, she is on orientation status and can begin looking for employment. At this time she can also volunteer at local agencies until paid employment is found.
