Brooklyn Bridge : Residential

The Program


Bridge House is an intensive, structured in-patient Criminal Justice substance abuse program that includes:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Group Counseling
  • Family Counseling
  • Self-help groups
  • AA/NA Meetings

Education

The educational program consists of the following curriculums:

  • Drug and Alcohol Addiction
  • Recovery Training
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases, HIV, AIDS
  • Domestic Violence
  • Stress and Anger Management

Treatment

Staffed by experienced and professional clinicians, the treatment part ofthe program consists of individual, group, and family sessions. Each resident is assigned a counselor. The content of individual and group sessions may include but is not limited to:

  • Personal, Family, and Social Issues
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Offense-Related Behaviors
  • Jail Related Behaviors
  • Treatment and Discharge Plan with After-Care and Transitional Counseling Referrals.

Schedule

Programming runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The weekend schedule offers more free time and additional limited programming.

8 a.m.        Meditation
9 a.m.        Groups
12 noon       Lunch
1 p.m.        Groups
3 p.m.        Free Time
5 p.m.        Dinner
6:30 p.m.     Evening Group
11:30 p.m.    Lights out

Step System

Probation 2 weeks
    *Complete Treatment Plan with Clinician
    *Get to know staff and residents
    *Know rules and regulations
    *Complete A of Treatment Plan

Step 1
  minimum 30 days
    *Attend Education/Treatment Groups
    *Attend weekly counseling
    *Complete 3 areas of B,C,D,E, & F of Treatment Plan
    *No performance citations

Step 2
  minimum 30 days
    *Attend Education/Treatment Groups
    *Attend weekly counseling
    *Complete 3  more areas of B,C,D,E, & F of Treatment Plan
    *No performance citations

Step 3
  minimum 30 days
    *Attend Education/Treatment Groups
    *Attend weekly counseling
    *Identify and share feelings in group
    *Identify and share defenses in group
    *Good work performance
    *Report treatment goals completed in B,C,D,E, & F
    *No performance citations
    *Start G of Treatment Plan
    *After 90 days start H of Treatment Plan

Step 4
  minimum of 90 days
    *Discharging from DOC and waiting for housing or
    *Approved by DOC to stay in-house for 90 more days
