Brooklyn Bridge : Residential
Who May Apply?
Men who are currently incarcerated in a Department of Correction facility and who are approved for Community Release or Transitional Supervision may apply for admission. Residents who successfully complete Bridge House may return to the community through parole, transitional supervision, discharge, or admission into another Program.
Admission
To be eligible for the Brooklyn/Bridge Program an individual must:
- currently be incarcerated in a Department of Correction facility.
- have approval for Community Release by the Department of Correction
- be referred by the Department of Correction Enforcement Services Division, Community Counselor.
- have a minimum of 6 months remaining on his sentence OR, if the offense is exclusionary, have no more than 18 months remaining on his sentence.
- be motivated for treatment
- indicate a willingness to abide by house rules and cooperate with program procedures.
- not be at risk of responding with physical violence
- have an interview to determine eligibility and whether the program can adequately meet his needs.
Concerned Persons Group
Concerned Persons Group is required for furlough sponsors. They must attend three times a month. The group is also for AA/NA sponsors, family, friends, partners, roommates, or anyone involved with a Brooklyn/Bridge resident. This group offers information about the Brooklyn/Bridge Program, the recovery process, and lends support to its members.
